once upon a time there was a girl and she hated valentines day but really deep down she wanted it to love her. she wanted valentines -- she wanted hundreds!

she made valentines - she sneaked em - she hid them - she kissed em - whispered secrets to them ...

she hoped secret crushes would find them. she hoped fancy pants would find them, and those people who wear lip-smackers and eat squid crackers (yes, them) and especially david bowie, she wanted david bowie to find one.

so the adventure begins -- lala letters -- they hide in their secret hiding spots and wait (mostly they sing songs and think about accordion).

here's to love -- to spreading it like homemade concord grape jam.

"mostly they sing songs and think about accordion"

A few of us know that it could be no other way.

thank you for your fun valentine. I found it in my dozen eggs from Cherry Sprout Market in Portland, Oregon. I made blueberry pancakes with those eggs, and served them to my lover and my friends. I don't put much stock in V-day, but I love to love and be loved. and I love accordions. - ATL-iens in Portland

It was tucked inside my brain for a helmet, it must've followed me home because I didn't have to put it on...I had a flat front tire and walked the whole way. Could you have left it down there in SE? What a balancing act to have traveled all the way to NE.

I found it in the morning and it left no pain, save for who left it, no answer, suspicions, but still no answer...just the carefully waxed seal and the invitation to this place on the internet...oh for how I wish you were who I wish for and that, I'm still thinking of why I wish for you-thankyou for giving me something to wish upon...

"valentine, I want to dress you up like a dragon and fight you..."

Ok but you have to let me win for at least part of the fight, then you can come back and rock my socks like Rocky. then we can make up!

thanks!

I found one on my front door step! I love chocolate, cheese and I have freckles, which my lover kisses at least ten times a day (he has to get to one million to get the secret prize). Let me count the ways...

I found my Valentine this morning on the floor of my hotel room as my Valentine was leaving for work. I'm playing in Seattle tonite, hopefully you can hear the Bowie all the way from up there..

I caught you in the act! You were putting the cute little note in my pocket as I walked through the crowded bar. I looked back confused, and you gave me the hush hush. I loved it. I wish that would happen more often. Made my night :)

Happy Valentines!

Petting chickens while wearing pajamas sounds lovely. I was sick on Valentine's day. Today I went to the store to get yogurt and found my charming note. Thanks! (zingdew + #276)

I was guarding the Mens bathroom door at Reel M Inn. My wife was in there you see, as there was a drunken dingbat sleeping in the ladies room, so that just the way it had to go. This is when I noticed tha little piece of paper in the reward area of the condom dispenser. We were on our way out, so I tucked it away in my coat pocket for later. And then forgot about until that evening. I must say i was not as touched by the words inside as I was to the detail in care that was put into the little package itself. It will find a home on "the board", which is a collection of oddities that all live together on a big cork board on the wall of my kitchen. we hope it enjoy its stay.

#522 was received here at 3557 SE Division St. through our mail slot. (The FOUNDARY). It was a tiny wee valentine with a wax seal that says XO. So adorable and sweet. Thanks for making the world a better place!

Hello number 246. What are you doing here at the Bison Building, amongst the shiny adornments my past hands made?

I don't understand your existence in my world and, as I'm a great lover of ambiguity, I sure do love that about you!

Thanks so very much for the smiles!

I discovered Valentine #179 today on a chair in the office where I practice acupuncture, mixed in with my mail. I was not in yesterday, but our door repair man fixed the front door while I was out. He must have found your note and put it there. Many years ago, I found a lovely Easter basket at my apartment door with a trail of giant pink rabbit footprints leading up to it, never to know who had left them there (other than the Easter Bunny). This is just as mysterious. Thank you for the Valentine's wish! Fall can be such a tough time. I will always keep a ball of green string handy for mending your heart...

Dear La La,

I found 954 on my bike. Thank you for putting some "de la" in my soul tonight. Lots of love to you!

I found this reference to predestination for you from none other than Valentinus (2nd Cent. AD)

"Having knowledge, he does the will of the one who called him, he wishes to be pleasing to him, he receives rest. Each one's name comes to him. He who is to have knowledge in this manner knows where he comes from and where he is going."

Pinkknees-
The box of chocolate was purchased to sweeten our Palentines Party. Activities included eating foods that make you look unattractive, or foods that go better on their own, listening to records and playing M.A.S.H. Sweets covered the table and the little box of chocolates was put aside, until tonight. Thank you for spreading surprise and adventure and art, and of course, love.
